Inhaler Techniques

There are many different types of inhaler device for administering drugs to the airways.  The most commonly used is the “pressurised metered dose inhaler”, pictured.  This kind of device is used for many different drugs.

Although inhalers like this have many advantages, they are not the easiest to use.  Unfortunately, many people with such a device do not use the device effectively and much of the dosage of drug may be wasted if technique is suboptimal.  Therefore, I have recorded a short video to illustrate the best technique for using a metered dose inhaler.
